Asteroid Impact Study
Students selected several bolides of different masses and sizes to be dropped from a height of
two (2) meters, measuring the resultant impact craters for diameter of disturbed "soil". Flour
served as the "soil" while a thin layer of powdered chocolate flavoring sprinkled atop it became
surface dust, allowing the diameter of impact to be measured.

It will be very important to smooth the surface before letting the bolide create a crater.

Making sure the proper height of two meters is attained before dropping takes teamwork.

The resultant craters are measured for impact and compared by mass and size of bolide.
