TRICK or TREAT TOWN
                                 (APU Volunteers, 10/29 & 30, 1999)

For the past five years, Alaska Pacific University students in the Teacher Preparation Program have volunteered
their services at The Imaginarium Trick or Treat Town fundraiser. They dress up in costumes, prepare short
hands-on and minds-on activities in science and mathematics to share with trick or treaters of all ages, then spend two hour shifts interacting with some 2000 - 2500 folks who venture past the APU activities tables. Kids, parents
and preservice teachers alike enjoy the festivities and experiences. The pictures below capture a glimpse at what
the experience is all about...

Water activities are always fun when directed by angels, a witch or a clown. How many pennies will a full glass of water hold?

Now that you found your way around town, what color are the taxi driver's eyes? I need more pennies over here!!!

So, what makes the diver dive when you squeeze the bottle?        Pick a card, any card... You can't fool me!

The mad scientist's laboratory takes shape. What ghosts are messing up the picture and his hair???

Ghost writing and the power of magic words draw lots of attention from all sizes of Trick or Treaters.

Shady characters demonstrtae the power of magnetic wands and the magic of  slights of hand...

A balancing act is performed at one end of the table as the jester uses card tricks to entertain.
