HUMAN IMPACT
This theme deals with determining and evaluating the effects of humans on the Earth.
The "textbook" used to develop understanding and provide some background for human
impact issues is Carl Sagan's Billions and Billions. Students brainstorm ideas about how
humans are affecting the Earth and study proposed issues including overpopulation,
pollution and arable land abuses.
 
        
Students research several Internet sites providing population statistics.
