PERSONAL PROJECTS AND INVESTIGATIONS
As part of the requirements for the SC100 class, students design, perform and explain
a scientific investigation or project that is of particular interest. During the final week
of class, these projects are shared with class members, explaining the purpose, methods,
results and conclusions from their findings. The projects are as diverse as the class.

Demonstrating the causes and effects of avalanches requires special equipment
and ingredients. The slope and snow conditions along with terrain are involved.

In this investigation, popcorn was exposed to different treatments prior to the
ultimate taste test and recording/comparing of results.
